Dr. Ajayi started his academic career as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria in December 2006. He became Lecturer II in October 2012. He was awarded the 2011 TETFund Academic Staff Training and Development Grant to visit Prof. R.R.T.
