Short Bio, Academic, and Research Activities:
“Dr. Ajayi started his academic career as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria in December 2006. He became Lecturer II in October 2012. He was awarded the 2011 TERTFund Academic Staff Training and Development Grant to visit Prof. R.R.T. Majinda’s Phytochemistry Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, University of Botswana, Gaborone, Botswana, in March 2013 to carry out some aspects of his PhD research work. He returned in August 2013. He was promoted to Lecturer I and Senior Lecturer in October 2015 and October 2018 respectively. Areas of specialization and research Interest include Organic Chemistry/Natural Products Chemistry. Dr. Ajayi has served either as a supervisor or co-supervisor of six (6) students at the master’s level and one (1) PhD student. He is a member of some professional bodies such as the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), the Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria (IPAN), Western Africa Network of Natural Products Research Scientists (WANNPRES).
