Short Bio, Academic, and Research Activities:
OLABANJI Iyabo Oluremi is a female scientist in the Department of Chemistry, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. I had BSc. Ed (Chemistry) 1991 in Adeyemi College of Education (OAU), MSc in Environmental Control and Management (2003) and Ph.D Chemistry (2010) at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
My research interest is chemistry in relation to the environment, environmental pollution and the protean implications on human health, as well as the transformation of waste into industrial useful products. My publications cut–across Elemental Pollution and Health, Wastes as Industrial Products, Food and Health and Environmental Pollution and Health.
I’ve reviewed for the following journals and many others;
(i) International Journal of Scientific Research in Knowledge
(ii) International Journal of Physical Sciences
(iii) British journal of Applied Science & Technology
(iv) British Biotechnology Journals
I had internship training outside Nigeria (South Africa) in the field of Environmental /Analytical Chemistry which enhanced my knowledge in the current technology in analysis of environmental samples and the use of Analytical Equipment. I had opportunity of attending International Conferences both in Africa and United State of America (USA), and many local conferences which helped in widening my horizon in research areas that had been of benefit to my students. My training background in Environmental/Analytical chemistry has been utilized in successful training of Post Graduate students and undergraduate students.
Office/Room Number: Room 118 (First Floor, White house), Department of Chemistry, OAU, Ile-Ife.
Area of Specialization: Environmental & Analytical Chemistry
Current Research Projects for Postgraduate Students: Parabens in food and environmental samples
