Dr. Ajayi started his academic career as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria in 2006. He teaches Organic Chemistry courses and Natural Products Chemistry courses to both undergraduate and graduate students. His area of research includes Phytochemical and Bioactivity Studies of Nigerian Medicinal Plants. He became Lecturer II in October 2012. He was awarded the 2011 TERTFund Academic Staff Training and Development Grant to visit Prof. R.R.T. Majinda’s Phytochemistry Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, University of Botswana, Gaborone, Botswana, in March, 2013 to carry out some aspect of his PhD research work. He returned in August, 2013. He was promoted to Lecturer I and Senior Lecturer in October 2015 and October 2018 respectively. Dr. Ajayi has serves either as supervisor or co-supervisor of six (6) students at master’s level and one (1) PhD student.
