Dr Mrs. Lateefah Moyosore-Oluwa Durosinmi, graduated in 1979 with a B.SC (Hons) degree in Chemistry from University of Ibadan, Ibadan. She had a Master of Science degree in Analytical Chemistry from the same University in October 1986. In 1992, she obtained a PhD degree in Inorganic Chemistry from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Her main research interests overlap Inorganic Coordination Chemistry and Analytical/Environmental Chemistry.
Dr Lateefah Durosinmi started her working career as an Analytical Chemist II in the Quality Control Laboratory of the Lagos State Water Management Board, Iju Water Works, Lagos State from 1980 to 1981. Between 1981 and 1985, she taught Advanced level Chemistry at Saint Anne’s School, Ibadan,
Dr. Durosinmi took appointment with the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife in 1989 in the Department of Chemistry. She is presently a Senior Lecturer and was the Acting Dean of Students, (DSA) Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria from February 2008
to August 2016.
She has served the Faculty of Science in different Committees and She was the Faculty of Science Representative at the Centre for Gender and Social Policy Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University where she participated actively in gender-related University assignments such as the production of the Gender Policy Document for the University.
Dr Mrs Durosinmi was a Lagos State Government Scholar from 1976 to 1979. She won a Postgraduate Fellowship Award of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife between 1987 and 1989 and Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Loughborough University of Technology, Leics, United Kingdom, 1994/1995.
Dr Mrs Durosinmi has attended Conferences/Workshops in Science, Strategic Planning /Leadership and other fields. She participated at HERS-SA Academy 2010, Cape Town, South Africa and the Senior Academic Leadership Training, (SALT), 2013, University of Ghana, Accra, Ghana.
She is a member of the Chemical Society of Nigeria.
She was a member of the Academic Planning Committee, Crescent University, Abeokuta, Ogun State and Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State.
Dr. Durosinmi has made her mark as a woman leader in the country with different leadership positions, culminating in her election as the National Amirah (President) of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria, (FOMWAN), between 2005 and 2009.
She is currently the National Chairperson, FOMWAN National Education Committee and Executive member of the Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Community, Ile-Ife.
Dr. Durosinmi was the National Vice-President, Obafemi Awolowo Muslim Graduates’ Association (UNIFEMGA) between 2004 and 2007.
She is actively involved in the provision of scholarships to pupils/ students and economic empowerments of women through a Foundation, Lateefah Moyosore Durosinmi Foundation, (LMD Foundation), which was founded in 2010.
