Research interest:
(A) My on-going research is aimed at developing new polymers to solve prevailing human and environmental problems. This is being actualized by: (i) developing imprinted polymers to target specific organic and inorganic pollutants in aqueous and non-aqueous media, (ii) Synthesizing Monomer-modified Biosorbents through Graft Copolymerization of sorbent materials, in the presence of initiators such as Fenton reagent, KMnO4 etc., for application in adsorbing toxic organic materials from waste waters and industrial waste waters mimics.
(B) Investigation of the rates and kinetics of membrane digestion by lysosomal enzymes and the role enzymes, proteins and lipids play in cholesterol transfer in biological model systems.
